Q You must have a specific, detailed thesis sentence that clearly states your position on the issue. Follow the instructions of W-3b of Seagull for formulating the effective thesis statement and organizing your essay. You must organize the paper logically. In your essay, you may use different patterns of development: cause-effect, classification, division analysis, comparison. Choose a certain way to organize your paragraphs: problem-solution, climactic, from general-to-specific. Each of your supporting paragraphs must have a clear topic sentence. Follow the instructions on organizing paragraphs in Chapter W-4 and on developing an argument in W-7 Seagull. You can follow the concept of framing suggested by Stuart Greene.
